GOING OUT IN BERLIN

I'm living in Berlin for more than 10 years now and still I love it so much!

I think I will start a little series about the places I like most – from bars to my favourite restaurants.

It might be a good inspiration for your next visit to berlin.

MY PERSONAL TOP 5 RESTAURANTS FOR ITALIAN COOKING:

1) LAVANDERIA VECCHIA

This lovely restaurant was opened in spring 2010. Hidden in the 2nd backyard of a typical Neu - Kölln apartment building, it's a real culinary treasure waiting to be discovered. Neu Kölln is famous for everything else but good cooking. And it's a pretty long ride from Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg. But I tell you, it's worth it.

The „Lavanderia Vecchia" has it's name from the fact that she's based in the rooms of an old laundry.
The interior design is also relating to that, playing with clotheslines hanging across the room and other accessories reminding of its history. If your entourage bores you you can watch the cooks in the open kitchen. They even have italian TV behind the bar and an original food pedal at the restroom sink reminding you on your last holidays in Italy. The concept of Lavanderia Vecchia is pretty unusual. You pay 39 Euros total for a big menue. The delicacy of this are the about 10 different sorts of antipasti, being served one ofter another –  and each one of them is absolutely awesome. You can drink as much as you like, everything's included. And in the end, you pay the bill at the counter beside the door – just like in original Italian „sale e tabacchi" - shops.
